Plaza San Juan stands as a modest yet practical choice for travelers seeking convenience near Ciudad de México’s bustling airport area. With a rating of 3.7, it offers clean, spacious rooms that numerous guests have praised for their comfort and ample size. The hotel situates itself strategically in Agrícola Oriental, Iztacalco, a residential neighborhood that balances quiet living with proximity to key urban amenities including the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez and various arenas. This location appeals especially to visitors attending motorsports events or concerts, as well as those keen on exploring colonial churches nearby.
Guests frequently highlight the attentive and courteous staff who enhance the stay with personalized service. The housekeeping team receives commendations for maintaining the rooms’ cleanliness and responding promptly to visitor needs. Despite its straightforward design, Plaza San Juan benefits from excellent access to transit options, sitting just a few blocks from the metro station and a short ride to Terminal 2 of the airport. Convenience is further underscored by the close proximity to everyday essentials such as Oxxo convenience stores and larger supermarkets like Aurrerá and Soriana.
However, the hotel shows signs of wear in certain areas. Some guests have reported worn linens and limited air ventilation, pointing toward potential discomfort during extended stays. Reports of cigarette smoke odors conflict with the hotel’s non-smoking policy, which may affect the experience for sensitive visitors. Noise levels can be an issue, given the hotel’s urban setting and the absence of air conditioning, which could reduce the ability to keep windows closed.
Despite these drawbacks, Plaza San Juan’s strengths lie in its affordability and practical location. It aligns well with travelers requiring short-term accommodation close to the airport or those attending events in the surrounding neighborhood. The hotel’s blend of spacious, clean rooms and helpful service fosters a welcoming environment. This balance of value and access makes it a hotel that many guests would consider returning to, appreciating its role as a functional base in CDMX.

Rooms were very large, and very clean. The location to Terminal 2 was great, about a 40mim walk or $100 peso uber. Would definitely use again when we need to stay overnight. Beware of slant on the room though, slipped and fell down it.
Stayed for 10 days in December. Pros - Great price. Rooms are very big and always had plenty of hot water. I did not see any roaches as this is not roach season. About 3 blocks from the metro station. Cons - Sheets and towels were very worn, clean but worn. While they say it is a non smoking hotel I smelled cigarettes frequently. There is no air ventilation (no AC or heat). It is very loud as it is right by a highway, bring ear plugs.
